Marisa currently works in Baltimore, MD as a social media specialist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she is responsible for developing new programming and content and handling the day-to-day management of the School’s flagship Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts. Marisa has recently completed her Master’s degree in Communications with a focus in public relations at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
A graduate of Hofstra University, Marisa majored in journalism and minored in English. During her time at Hofstra, Marisa was President and recruitment chair of Zeta Phi Eta, a professional communications fraternity, News Editor for The Hofstra Chronicle and Vice President of Ed2010. While attending school, Marisa held several internships related to digital communications and social media, including stints with the editorial and communications teams at Portland Monthly Magazine and the Ronald McDonald House Charities. In the fall of 2016, Marisa assisted with the 2016 Presidential Debate as a social media volunteer, and helped provide further election coverage as an intern on CNN’s social TV team.
When Marisa isn’t working you’ll probably find her still scrolling social media, reading a book or meticulously planning her future.
